On Thursday 5 April, the Taxi Charity was invited to Brick Fest at Fulham Palace.
Lee Copeland, who is a volunteer at Fulham Palace, sponsored a brick for the Taxi Charity as part of the restoration work at the palace, and we were able to see our brick and received a certificate of appreciation.
We arrived at the palace at midday. Taxi Charity committee members, Graham Pike and Ian Parsons, were accompanied by Chelsea Pensioners, Mike Smith, Dave Lines, Ken McDonald and Bill Posnett.
Lee Copeland gave us a brief history of Fulham Palace. We then visited all the craft tables in the courtyard showing how bricks are made by hand and how the various coatings are put on bricks.
We then went inside to visit the museum and walked around the gardens, and after lunch we visited more of the palace.
A huge thank you to Lee for sponsoring our brick and for inviting us to the event. A great time was had by all.
